It has been reported that officers of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) have invaded the Mitros Residences Annex, Ibara, Abeokuta – an Ogun State Government-owned hotel.

It was gathered that the operatives of the anti-graft agency broke into the government-owned hotel around 4am on Monday and made away with men suspected to be internet fraudsters.

We learnt that some cars, mobile phones and laptop computers were recovered by the operatives.

The operatives were said to have stormed two other hotels in Abeokuta, arresting no fewer than 56 suspected Yahoo boys.

The spokesman for the EFCC, Ibadan Zone, Tokunbo Odebiyi, confirmed that the operatives were in Abeokuta for an operation.

According to Odebiyi, the 56 suspects were picked up in three different locations in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

“It is true, the EFCC made arrest of some fraudsters in Abeokuta, the state capital. 56 of them were arrested in three different places,” he said.
