Information reaching Confirm News has it that Davido has announced his exit From Nigerian Politics After Osun Election.
The Afrobeats star Davido made this public statement that he is stepping away from Nigerian politics following the conclusion of the Osun State governorship election.
Davido, who actively supported his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, during the election campaign, made the statement while reacting to comments by APC National Youth Leader Dayo Israel, who credited the singer with helping to mobilise young Nigerians and influencers for Adeleke’s campaign.
The singer rejected the suggestion that he operated as part of a wider political structure, insisting that he supported his family independently.
“I brought no one! No one defended me! I backed my family on my own!! You guys r ruthless n disgusting! Eeewwww!”
He added: “I have done my job! Nigerian politics is evil AND I DON’T WANT TO BE A PART OF IT TILL GOD HELPS US!”
The declaration comes after Adeleke was declared winner of the Osun governorship election with 511,067 votes, defeating APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.
Davido’s latest comments suggest that, at least for now, he intends to distance himself from active political involvement after campaigning for his uncle’s re-election.
