There are reports that large number of heavy armed poilcemen were on standby at Lekki Tollgate to forestall the protest and few number of protesters followed the Presidential candidate of AAC, comrade Omoyele Sowore to the scene of the EndSARS two years remembrance.Suddenly police chased sowore immediately after he granted interviews from journalists and some of the protesters that gathered around ran away from the scene when policemen shot teargas, hot water and canon water to dispersed people including journalists at the scene of the #EndSARS remembrance .Falz , comedian Mr Macaroni, and others also stormed the Lekki toll gate to stage a procession in memorial of lives lost during the #EndSARS protest of October 2020.The activists plan to have a car procession with horns blaring and flags waving at the toll gate where protesters are believed to have been shot and killed.
This is despite warnings from the Lagos Police Command against the breakdown of law and order in the state. Meanwhile, the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has said the Lekki shooting of October 20, 2020, will be hidden forever if Asiwaju Bola Tinubu becomes president.Tinubu is the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress and former governor of Lagos State where the shooting took place. The shooting was carried out by security forces to disperse youths protesting against police brutality and bad governance.
