I D CABASA
ID Cabasa started as a teenager way back in the late 80s. He was in the secondary school while also doing music by the side. Professionally, it was around 2003 after he left the university. He worked in a corporate company for a while before he left to fully focus on music production.
ID Cabasa started Coded Tunes production in his house in 2003. But before Coded Tunes, he had a clique called, The Smiling Head Soldier which was headed by 2Phat.
The Smiling Head comprises himself, 2phat, Lord of Ajasa and MC Spako. Then, a lot of Cliques usually come to his studio to make beat.
There was a massive squad called “Yabtown Squad” which is where veteran rapper Reminisce originated from. It comprises of both rappers and singers and some of them were his juniors in secondary school.
Both cliques merged together (The Smiling Head and Yabtown Sqaud) to form coded tunes and obviously the name of the studio that united them is Coded Tunes. So, that was how they started Coded Tunes.
OLAMIDE DISCOVERY
Confirm News findings revealed that Olamide came with a friend of ID Cabasa to record and he (ID Cabasa) fell in love with the young boy of 13/14 years immediately. He fell in love with the way he delivered his rap line. What was coming from Olamide was obviously older than him. He was so impressed that he told him that he’s free to come record at the studio at any time for free. Olamide will always come around while Cabasa will cooks beat for him. Olamide keep recording, he writes almost everyday. From there Cabasa had no choice than to make him part of the coded tunes family and the rest is history as
