Reports reaching Confirm News has it that Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu along side Area Commander , Sango Ota have summoned DPO Itele, Juliana Yusuf and two officers Olumide Ajibola Ogunmakin and Stephen over alleged brutality and abuse of power at Itele .
Findings revealed that in a troubling incident at the Itele Awori Police Station in Ota, Ogun State, all eyes are on the Nigeria Police Headquarters as they intervene in response to allegations of misconduct by Inspector Ogunmakin and Stephen. The officers stand accused of assaulting a woman and her husband, as well as wrongfully detaining their children.
The situation came to light when the daughter of the victims took to Twitter, calling for support from fellow Nigerians. She recounted a harrowing experience where her mother was physically assaulted by Inspector Stephen, who then took both parents to the police station.
According to the daughter’s post, Inspector Stephen has a history of abusing his authority. He allegedly falsely accused the daughter’s father of theft, leading to the wrongful detainment of their children. Moreover, there are allegations of an extramarital affair involving Inspector Stephen, which may have motivated his actions against the daughter’s family.
The incident has sparked widespread condemnation, with calls for accountability and justice for the victims. It underscores the urgent need to address misconduct within the Nigerian police force and ensure the protection of citizens’ rights.
The Nigeria Police Headquarters has assured the public that they are actively investigating the matter and taking appropriate action. However, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of holding law enforcement officers accountable and rooting out corruption within the system.
However, Commissioner of Police , Ogun State, Alamutu has ordered Area Commander Sango to investigate the issue. Divisional Police Officer , Itele Juliana Yusuf has been summoned and the two officers who allegedly involved in the brutality.
