President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday met with the newly sworn-in president of Senegal, Bassirou Faye in Dakar, the country’s state capital.

Tinubu who is on the invitation of the Republic of Senegal, also congratulated Faye on his inauguration which was held at Diamniadio Exhibition Centre.

President Tinubu, who is the Chairman of ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, had announced his plans to attend the swearing in ceremony of Faye alongside other regional leaders to witness the inauguration.

Faye, 44 was among a group of political opponents freed from prison 10 days before the March 24 presidential ballot under an amnesty announced by Sall, who had tried to delay the vote.

Faye’s campaign was launched while he was still in detention.
