The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Barr.) Rosiji Oluyemisi Adenike, demonstrated her commitment to the welfare of retirees by attending a medical outreach program held at Vetland Primary School, Agege. The event was organized by the Lagos State Government in collaboration with Health District I and Ojokoro LCDA, powered by Permanent Secretary Dr. Olufunmilayo Bankole.
During the outreach, retirees received comprehensive healthcare services, including routine medical examinations, free medications for hypertension and diabetes, eye screening with corrective glasses, health education, and counseling. Hon. Rosiji actively participated in the fitness session, showcasing her people-oriented leadership style.
In her address, Hon. Rosiji emphasized the importance of exercise for physical and mental well-being, urging retirees to adopt it as a lifestyle. She cautioned against self-medication and encouraged retirees to consult medical professionals when needed. Her empathetic approach was evident in her response to a retiree’s concern about elected officials failing to fulfill promises, saying, “I know where the shoe pinches the most. I have walked in your shoes. Rest assured, this administration will not turn a deaf ear to your needs. We are here to serve.”
The event was attended by Comrade Adeyemi Olamilekan, Education Secretary of Ifako-Ijaiye, who expressed confidence in Hon. Rosiji’s dedication to serving the people.
