The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, has pledged that widespread road rehabilitation works will commence across the council area once the rains subside.
Rosiji gave the assurance on Tuesday, September 10, 2025, during the monthly meeting of the Community Development Committee (CDC) held at the CDC Secretariat, Powerline, Gbinrinmi.
She explained that road grading projects during the peak of the rainy season would be unsustainable due to heavy downpours, adding that the council had mapped out several roads for rehabilitation immediately after the weather improves.
Beyond infrastructure, the council chair highlighted investments in education and empowerment.
According to her, Ojokoro LCDA currently operates 11 Adult Literacy Centres where residents can access free classes.
She urged community members to embrace the initiative and take advantage of the opportunity to improve their literacy skills.
Rosiji also encouraged young people and adults to enroll in the council’s vocational and ICT centres, stressing that digital competence and skill acquisition remain vital in today’s fast-changing society.
“Our administration is committed to building people, not just infrastructure. These programmes are designed to empower residents and improve lives across Ojokoro,” she said.
Earlier, the CDC Chairman, Barr. Samuel Alabi, commended the council boss for attending the meeting in person alongside councillors and top officials.
While appreciating her administration’s efforts, he called for stronger communication between the council and community leaders to ensure residents receive timely updates on government programmes and initiatives.
Alabi further expressed optimism that the current administration would deliver on its promises, especially in road rehabilitation, which he described as one of the community’s most urgent needs.

Taiwo Taofeek; Council Manager, Mrs. Akinola Mojisola; Admin and Human Resource Officer, Mrs. Akran Akinyode; HOD of Education, Mr. Quadri Tajudeen; Public Affairs Officer, Mr. Odegbami Olawunmi; and HOD of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mrs. Akintunde.
The CDC meeting, which brings together executives of Community Development Associations (CDAs), remains a vital forum where government officials, NGOs, and other stakeholders engage community leaders on pressing developmental issues.
