The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is mourning right now. It has been reported that Commander of NDLEA , Cross River State chapter, Morrison Ogbonna died in a hotel room, Calabar.
Morrison Ogbonna’s body was found dead after his body was found when some officers went to the hotel to pick him up for a scheduled assignment.
Confirm News source, who requested anonymity, “This morning, some officers went to the hotel to pick him up. When they didn’t get any response, they alerted the hotel management, who opened the room and found him lifeless.”
Ogbonna, who was transferred to Cross River in August 2025 to replace Rachel Umebuali, had only recently assumed duty in the state.
Spokesperson of the state police command , SP Irene Ugbo-Obase confirmed the incident.
He said, ,”I can confirm that this is true, but what led to his death is something I cannot readily disclose.”, Morrison Ogbonna.
