Ogun Former Governor and Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, His Excellency, The Senator, Otunba Engr Gbenga Daniel FNSE FAEng was bounced out of APC Ogun East Senatorial Caucus Meeting on Monday 20th April 2026 held at Ijebu Ode .

Political pundits have been asking lots of questions on who was really behind unethical act to embarrassed Distinguished Senator representating Ogun East at the upper chamber , Abuja.

Confirm News reports gathered that the former governor who arrived earlier at the venue of the meeting at Adeola Odutola Hall, Folagbade, Ijebu Ode on Monday 20th April, 2026 was prevented entry with his entourages.

All efforts of his security men to speak the situation was fugitive. The incumbent Senator while trying to addressed the situation at the venue said, he is not a bastard Ijebu Man. “I am the Obalofin of Ijebuland and the Olori Omooba of Omu-Ijebu. Wherever President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is going, we will go. We need not to panic. All weapons fashioned against us shall not prosper”.

However, on the other hand, opposition caucus report that

Senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, failed to appear at the high-stakes Senatorial Strategic Caucus meeting .

There were allegations that despite a seat being officially reserved for him, the former Governor’s chair remained vacant as of 1:00 PM, sparking intense speculation among party faithful and political observers regarding his standing within the party hierarchy.

While Daniel was nowhere to be found, the hall was packed with the “who’s who” of Ogun East politics. The presence of these heavyweights underscores the importance of the meeting and further
highlights Daniel’s isolation:

State Government Reps: Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Tokunbo Talabi.
Legislative Icons:All Ogun state National Assembly members, All Ogun East senatorial District state House of Assembly, Senator Olamilekan Mustapha and Former Deputy Governor, Senator Gbenga Kaka.
Party Leadership: State Deputy Chairman Hon. James Dina, Ogun East Party Chairman Dr. Adeleke Adedoyin, and Former Chairman Dayo Bayo.

Chief Kola Ogunjobi, High Chief (Hon) Segun Osibote, Chief Pegba Otemolu, Chief Samuel Durovaiye, and Chief Bapo Tayo.

Ogun East Woman Leader Mrs. Kuburat Arigbabu, State Youth Leader Comrade Aremu Babatunde, and the full assembly of Executive Chairmen and Councillors from across the Senatorial District.

The “Suspension” Factor
The atmosphere at Adeola Odutola Hall is thick with whispers that Daniel’s absence is not a mere scheduling conflict, but a direct fallout from his rumored suspension from the Ogun State APC.

“His seat was provided for, yet it sits empty,” noted one attendee who requested anonymity. “The party is moving forward with or without him. You cannot lead a district if you aren’t in the room where the strategy is being built.”
Political Implications
Senator Daniel, who has long been a polarising figure in the state’s internal APC dynamics, now faces a narrative of increasing alienation. His absence from a meeting attended by every single local government chairman and councillor in his district suggests a significant rift between the Senator and the grassroots machinery of the party.

As the caucus continues its deliberations behind closed doors, the question remains: Is this the definitive end of Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s influence within the Ogun APC, or is he planning a counter-move from the sidelines?

APC Ogun East needs sudden God’s intervention and Baba Olusegun Osoba as major leader to settle the rifts between Distinguished Senator Gbenga Daniel and other members of the party.
