
The Rotary Club of Osogbo Sunrise has reinforced its commitment to literacy by distributing educational materials to over 150 pupils across two schools in Osogbo, under its Empowering Young Minds project.
The outreach, held on Monday, 4th May, 2026 at 9:00 AM, was carried out simultaneously at Future Model of Knowledge Schools, Gbongan-Ibadan Road, and beside Osogbo Grammar School. Led by *Rtn Alexandra Oluwatobiloba Adeyeye, Club President 2025/2026, club members engaged with school management, teachers, and students before distributing the items. Materials distributed include:- 100+ school bags- 50 mathematical sets- 50 pocket dictionaries- 1 complete school uniform for a student identified.
While speaking during the exercise, the club stated that the intervention aligns with Rotary International’s Basic Education and Literacy , focus area, aimed at improving access to learning tools and reducing the financial burden on families.

The club noted that the support is expected to improve attendance, boost confidence, and strengthen literacy skills in mathematics and English.*“Empowering Young Minds is about giving every child the chance to learn with dignity,” said Rtn Adeyeye. “We are proud to invest in the future of Osogbo, one student at a time.” The Rotary Club of Osogbo Sunrise reaffirmed its pledge to continue impactful projects that build stronger, educated communities within District 9126, Nigeria.
