Osun State election is gearing up this weekend on Saturday 15th August 2026. There have been allegation on mass killing by the opposition party.
However, afrobeats star Davido has called out Senator Francis Fadahunsi following a statement attributed to the Osun East Senator, in which he allegedly urged supporters to kill members of the Accord Party.
In the video shared by Davido, Fadahunsi is quoted as saying: “From now on, whenever you see Accord members, kill them. I authorize you to kill them. They have wives and children too.” He allegedly went on to say: “This is a Federal Government election. On election day, even if they come with voters’ card, we won’t allow them to vote.”
Davido shared the statement while drawing attention to Fadahunsi’s alleged remarks as political tensions continue to rise ahead of the Osun governorship election. Davido has openly aligned himself with the Accord Party, following the decision by his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, to leave the Peoples Democratic Party and contest the 2026 election on the Accord platform.
The remarks attributed to Fadahunsi have sparked concerns over the tone of political campaigns in the state and the potential for violence ahead of the election.
