Confirm News reports have it that Super Eagles: Maduka Okoye Spotted With Cardi B As Goalkeeper Misses Camp Arrival.
Maduka Okoye was seen with the American rapper , Cardi B in Milan, Italy, as he remains the only player yet to arrive in Nigeria’s camp for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches.
According to a report by New Telegraph, 23 of the 24 players invited by head coach Eric Chelle had arrived in camp and participated in the team’s opening training session in Ikot-Ekpene by Tuesday evening.
Okoye was the notable absentee.
The Udinese goalkeeper had stepped up as Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper and produced impressive performances against Poland and Portugal in June while Stanley Nwabali was sidelined.
His displays strengthened his standing with Chelle, while his consistent form for Serie A club Udinese further supported expectations that he would retain his position in the Super Eagles.
The 27-year-old was subsequently included in Nigeria’s 24-man squad for the AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
However, footage emerged on social media on Wednesday morning showing Okoye in conversation with Cardi B.
The video quickly drew criticism from Nigerian fans and journalists, with much of the reaction focused on the goalkeeper’s absence from the national team camp.
The latest sighting is not the first time Okoye and Cardi B have been seen together, as the pair have reportedly crossed paths several times over the summer.
