It has been reported that Bandits have attacked the residence of the Zamfara State Hajj Commission chairman, Alhaji Musa Mallaha, killed his son, Abdulmunafi Musa and the security guard.

The bandits also reportedly kidnapped another of Mallaha’s sons, Mu’awiyya Lawali.

It was gathered that the bandits invaded the chairman’s residence in Gusau, the state capital in the early hours of Thursday, May 30, 2024.

It was learnt that the gunmen made an attempt to kidnap the chairman but failed.

A resident, Ishiaku Umaru, said that the gunmen began shooting sporadically after breaking into the house.

“The shootings woke us up as everyone in the area started running helter-skelter. Nobody can exactly say how many people were killed or kidnapped. But it was certain that one of the chairman’s sons and his watchman were killed while another of his sons was kidnapped,” the resident said.

He further disclosed that the bandits also kidnapped other residents, mostly women and children.
