Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi has joined Turkish giants Besiktas for €9.5 million transfer from Leicester City.

The 27-year-old landed at the Atatürk Airport General Aviation Terminal on a private jet and was welcomed by club officials and an excited group of fans.

Ndidi, who has been with Leicester City since 2017, did not disappoint supporters who showed up to receive him, posing for photos before heading to the hotel where he will stay ahead of finalising the move.

Besiktas had earlier confirmed that transfer talks with the Nigerian international had begun, and his arrival in Turkey signals the final stage of the deal.

The defensive midfielder is expected to undergo a routine medical before being officially unveiled by the Istanbul-based club.

Ndidi becomes one of the most high-profile signings for Besiktas this summer as the club looks to strengthen their squad for the upcoming Super Lig season and European competitions.

He is leaving Leicester City after eight years and over 250 appearances, including their historic FA Cup win in 2021. His move comes just as the Foxes return to the Premier League after a season in the Championship.
