A Lagos-based legal practitioner, Barrister Moruf Ajani Animashaun has won The Compatriot legal man of the year award.
At the unveiling of the newspaper and magazine at Ikeja Thursday 12th March 2026 , Barrister Moruf Ajani was the cynosure of all eyes with his legal team while he was called to pick up his award.
While speaking with press men he stated that the numerous honours and awards he has received from the media and reputable organisations for his dedicated service in the legal profession continues to motivate him to contribute more meaningfully to Nigerian society.
The event brought together several distinguished Nigerians who were recognised for their remarkable contributions to their respective fields and to national development.The renowned legal practitioner was among the prominent personalities honoured at the maiden edition of the prestigious awards ceremony.
Barr. Moruf Animashaun expressed deep appreciation for the honour bestowed upon him.

As a distinguished lawyer working with the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) of the Nigeria Police, he explained that his major objective is to contribute to the sanitization of society and ensure that justice is served without fear or favour.He stressed the importance of fairness and professionalism in the legal system, noting that suspects must be properly investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
The colourful event also featured several notable personalities from different sectors of society.
Among them was Commissioner of Police Saadatu Ismaila, a highly respected and dedicated police officer widely admired for her commitment to service. The super cop was also honoured at the event with the Compatriot Newspaper Man of the Year Award.
