Superintendent of Police Chidi Okoye was full of job on Saturday 28th March 2026 at Rainbow Hall of Fame Awards .
When his name was abruptly called as the Police Man of the year, there were lots of excitement on his face.
The soft spoken police man geared up to receive the award.

” He is the author of The Investigator and The Syndicate Affairs, both detective novels that present crime investigations from a fictional perspective while reflecting the realities of policing in Nigeria. These works offer readers insight into the challenges faced by the Nigeria Police in maintaining law and order.
Chidi Okoye began his distinguished career in the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Inspector. Following his training, he was posted to Ebonyi State, where he completed his mandatory one-year probationary service. Upon successful completion, he was redeployed to Lagos State, where he has since built a dynamic and impactful career.Over the years, SP Okoye has served in various departments within the Force, gaining a wealth of practical experience in investigation, crime detection, and law enforcement operations. His hands-on exposure to real-life cases has shaped his professional expertise and informed his contributions to literature.
Expanding his literary footprint, he also authored Checkmate, a collection of short stories designed to educate the public on the criminal laws of Lagos State.
Checkmate was officially launched alongside The Syndicate Affairs on October 10, 2025, at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, marking a significant milestone in his advocacy for legal awareness through storytelling. SP Okoye has received several awards in recognition of his professional excellence and contributions to legal education. He currently serves as the Officer-in-Charge of the Zonal Quick Intervention Team, a unit tasked with rapid response, investigation, and detection of crime.
In addition to his operational duties, he has attended numerous professional courses in prosecution, criminal investigation, leadership, and management, further strengthening his capacity as a law enforcement leader.
