The Annual General Conference of the Church of the Lord Worldwide convened at the Ecumenical Centre of TCL Worldwide and the International
Headquarters, Ogere-Remo, Ogun State must have come and gone, but the memory still remain intact.
For those who attended the conference , the take out of the event is quantifiable . The annual event held from May 4th till May 10th emitted lots of inspirational messages from the apex spiritual fathers in the Church.

The gathering attracted clergy, church workers, delegates, and worshippers from various zones provinces, dioceses, zones and local branches of the church for a time of worship, spiritual impartation, reflection, and discussions on matters relating to faith, leadership, national
development, and societal wellbeing.
The conference was chaired and declared open by His Holiness, The Most Rev. Dr. Rufus Okikiola Ositelu, Primate of the Church of the Lord
Worldwide, who encouraged believers to remain devoted to God, uphold righteousness, and demonstrate unwavering faith in the limitless power and goodness of our marvelous God in all circumstances of life.
Participants at the conference examined prevailing national and global concerns, including insecurity, economic instability, declining moral values, unemployment, educational challenges, responsible parenting, youth engagement, and the growing influence of technology and social
media on society. The gathering stressed the importance of godly leadership, unity, discipline, compassion, and collective responsibility as essential foundations for national progress and peaceful coexistence.
After extensive deliberations on the state of the nation, the conference resolved as follows:
- The conference expressed grave concern over the worsening insecurity across the country, including kidnapping, banditry, terrorism, communal clashes, and violent attacks on innocent citizens. Concern was raised over recurring attacks on schools, churches, and rural communities. The Federal Government and security agencies are called upon to intensify intelligence gathering, strengthen inter-agency collaboration, and ensure prompt prosecution of criminal elements. Participants further advocated for increased investment in modern security infrastructure, State policing and community policing, and improved welfare for security personnel.
- The conference strongly supported the establishment of state policing as part of a broader security sector reforms. It noted that decentralised policing would improve local intelligence gathering, rapid response to security threats, and community trust in law enforcement. The need for constitutional safeguards, accountability mechanisms, and strict oversight to prevent abuse of state police structures was emphasised.
- The conference condemned attacks on educational institutions and the abduction of students in several parts of the country. It stressed that schools must remain safe spaces for learning and development. The government was urged to strengthen and deploy security personnel to vulnerable schools, improve emergency response systems, and invest in school infrastructure and surveillance mechanisms.
- The conference decried increasing attacks on churches and worship centres in parts of the country and called on authorities to protect the constitutional rights of citizens to freely
- practice their religion without fear or intimidation. Religious leaders were encouraged to continue promoting peace, tolerance, national unity, and interfaith dialogue.
- Participants identified poor electricity supply as a major obstacle to industrialisation, job creation, economic growth, and national competitiveness. All regions should be allowed to own their power generation company The conference also expressed deep concern over the rising cost of living, persistent inflation, food insecurity, and increasing unemployment, especially among youths. Government was urged to implement sustainable economic policies that support local production, small and medium-scale enterprises, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and industrial development. The Forum also recommended targeted social intervention programmes to cushion the effects of economic hardship on vulnerable citizens.
- The conference emphasised the urgent need for Nigeria to diversify its economy beyond dependence on crude oil revenue as participants called for strategic investments in agriculture, technology, manufacturing, creative industries, solid minerals, tourism, and renewable energy as pathways to economic resilience and sustainable development.
- The conference observed that inadequate funding, poor infrastructure, and declining standards continue to undermine the education sector. It called for increased budgetary allocation to education, improved teacher welfare, curriculum reforms, digital literacy programmes, and stronger investments in technical and vocational education to prepare young Nigerians for the future economy.
- The conference stressed the need for responsible parenting and value-based upbringing. The conference also encouraged stronger monitoring of harmful online content and increased awareness on cyber safety.
- The conference encouraged youths and credible Christians to actively participate in governance and politics to promote integrity, accountability, justice, and national transformation. It stressed good governance can only be achieved when competent, visionary, and morally upright citizens engage constructively in the democratic process.
- The conference called on national leaders and health institutions to collaborate more effectively with the World Health Organisation and other global health bodies to strengthen preparedness for future pandemics and public health emergencies. It recommended increased investment in healthcare infrastructure, disease surveillance systems, local vaccine production, medical research, and emergency response
mechanisms. In conclusion, the conference urged church leaders and workers across the world to continue to Worship God in truth, pray, and make the world a better place through life-changing sermon/exhortation. Nigerians are urged to remain hopeful, patriotic, and actively engaged in
efforts aimed at transforming the country for present and future generations. May God continue to strengthen us all to abide to His will.
