Tributes Pour in As CSP Akinola Aduroja Gives Late Mother, Chief Mrs. Fehintola Aduroja, Befitting Final Journey Home
In an atmosphere filled with emotions and glowing tributes, the remains of the matriarch of the Aduroja family, Chief Mrs. Fehintola Oluyemisi Aduroja, Nee Fapojuwo, were finally laid to rest in the ancestral home town of the Adurojas, Ilesha, Osun State, bringing to a close a week-long funeral rites that celebrated a life of 67 impactful years. Celebration of life well spent continues today, Friday 25th September 2026 at Orllar International Hotel, Ibadan.
Chief Mrs. Aduroja, who passed on at the age of 67 (1959-2026), was the beloved mother of CSP Akinola Aduroja, Commander of the Commissioner of Police Tactical Team, whose colleagues, friends and well-wishers turned out in large numbers to support the family during the solemn ceremonies.
The funeral activities commenced on Tuesday with a solemn Christian Wake Keep held at her residence in Ibadan. It was a night of songs, prayers and reflections as family members, church members, neighbours and sympathizers gathered to bid farewell to a woman described as virtuous, compassionate and a pillar of support to many.
The rites continued on Thursday morning as the body was collected from the mortuary and conveyed to her residence at Olodo, Ibadan, where a lying in state was held. Family and friends filed past to pay their last respects, with tears and fond memories flowing freely as they viewed her for the last time in Ibadan.
From Olodo, the funeral train moved to the Christ African Church, Kumapayi, Ibadan for the funeral service The clergy urged the family to take solace in her Christian life and enduring legacy.
A major highlight and emotional moment at the church service was the surprise arrival of the last born of the family, Folarin Aduroja, who is based in the United Kingdom. His unexpected entrance lightened up the Adurojas, as his presence had not been anticipated for the funeral. He joined his siblings to pay final respects to their mother.
Speaking during the service, CSP Akinola Aduroja, on behalf of the family, expressed profound gratitude to all who stood by them in their moment of grief. He described his late mother as his first love, teacher, prayer warrior and moral compass, whose discipline and values shaped his career in the Nigeria Police Force and the lives of all her children.
Chief Mrs. Fehintola Oluyemisi Aduroja Nee Fapojuwo is survived by children, grandchildren and extended family members. Among her children are CSP Akinola Aduroja, Mrs. Moyinsola Oguntoye, Oluwaseyi Aduroja and Folarin Aduroja. Those close to her described her as a devoted Christian , mother, grandmother and community leader who left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
After the church service, her remains were transported to Ilesha, the home town of the Adurojas, for interment. The journey home was symbolic of a return to her roots, where she was finally laid to rest beside her late, late retired police officer, SP Emmanuel Aduroja,
The burial in Ilesha was attended by family members, church leaders, friends of the Aduroja family, police officers and associates of CSP Akinola Aduroja. As the dust settled on the grave, tributes continued to pour in for a woman whose life was a celebration of love, faith and resilience.
