Rema and Don Jazzy had a deal at Marvin Records.
Later, he decided to leave and terminated his ten years recording deal.
However, I thought I have heard it all until
Don jazzy did something unthinkable to Rema when he decided to leave his Record label by terminating their 10 years contract agreement.
When Rema decided to go, he called Don jazzy and told him he’s terminating their agreement,so when they met at the MAVIN headquarter to discuss the next step Don jazzy wasn’t happy at all and asked Rema “Do you know the consequences of breaching a contract? Let alone from the biggest African record label??”
Let me tell you the consequences..
🔺Your social media accounts linked to the record label will be confiscated ( Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter).
🔺Your Digital Streaming platforms (iTunes, Spotify, Audiomack Apple music etc..)all belong to the record label
🔺 Your YouTube channel with 4.66 million subscribers belongs to the record label since we created it.
🔺Rema will be banned from performing any Song released under the record label and will be blacklisted by the music industry.
After all this was said Don Jazzy with a good heart took nothing from Rema,he terminated the contract,blessed him and is still supporting Rema to date. Though they still share the royalties from songs released under the record label,Rema controls all his accounts including his Spotify account with 21.6 million listeners and his YouTube channel with 4.66 million subscribers earning him millions of dollars yearly.
